This project involved the successful completion of 18 two- and three-bedroom affordable homes, along with associated external works and infrastructure, for Midland Heart. The works resumed following the insolvency of the original contractor, which had led to a five-month site stand-still.
At the time of possession, the plots were at varying stages of build – ranging from oversite to final decoration. Some units had deteriorated during the pause in construction and required additional rectification works.
We swiftly re-engaged the majority of the original supply chain, including MTE (Leicester) Ltd, the timber frame specialist, which was key to maintaining continuity and quality. Despite the initial delays and challenges, the scheme achieved Practical Completion six weeks ahead of the contractual completion date.
